We take care of everything, you provide the love

Our shelter is often full. Too many cats in one place is stressful. That is why we are looking for people who want to temporarily take in a cat. A moment of rest, warmth, and home.

Temporary home

As a foster home, you temporarily take in a cat or kittens. It is not adoption - you return them once they are ready for a permanent home. For some cats that is after a few weeks, for others after a few months.

You offer

  • A quiet, safe place
  • Time and attention
  • Love and patience

We offer

  • Food
  • All medical care
  • Guidance and advice
  • Supplies if needed

Who can you foster?

Kittens that need socialization

Young kittens need to learn that humans are okay. In a home environment they become social cats.

Mother cat with litter

She takes care of her kittens, you provide a quiet place and good food.

Orphans (litter without mother)

When very young, they need intensive care: bottle feeding every few hours, warmth, and lots of attention. Slightly older kittens are easier to manage.

Stressed cat from the shelter

Some cats are too stressed in the shelter and thrive in a quiet home environment. Often the easiest foster cats.

Palliative care

Sometimes a cat comes to us that does not have long to live. We believe every animal deserves a loving farewell, in a warm living room rather than a shelter.

What is expected of you?

Time and attention

How much varies per situation: newborn orphans require a lot, an adult cat requires less. But even a social cat that loves people wants your attention.

Safe environment

A closed room where the cat can calmly adjust. No dangerous items, no open windows at height.

Communication

We want to know how it is going. A message, a photo, a call.

Letting go

This is the hardest part. You will love them, and then they leave. But there will be a new one who needs your help.

Practical questions

It is temporary

We want to be honest: fostering is temporary. The goal is for the cat to get a permanent home. That can be with you, but usually it is somewhere else.

That is sometimes difficult. You will love them. But you also make room for the next cat that needs help.
