Minimal data collection
We collect as little data as possible. This website does not use tracking cookies, analytics that follow you across the internet, or advertising networks.
Local preferences
To improve your user experience, we store some preferences locally in your browser (localStorage). These are:
- Language preference: NL or EN
- Theme preference: light or dark mode
This data is only stored on your device and is not sent to our servers. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.
Cookies
This website only uses strictly necessary technical cookies required for the website to function. We do not place tracking cookies or third-party cookies.
Contact forms
When you fill out our contact form or send us an email, the information you provide is kept for as long as necessary to handle your question or request. We do not share your data with third parties.
Donations and recurring gifts
When you donate through our donation form, we process the data needed to handle your gift, account for it, and send you a confirmation.
What we store
- Name and email address (to send you a confirmation and recognise you as a donor)
- Amount, date and payment method of your gift
- For recurring gifts: IBAN and SEPA mandate (held at Mollie, not by us)
- A donor reference number for the Dutch tax authority and CBF
Payments via Mollie
Online payments are processed by Mollie B.V. (Amsterdam), a Dutch payment service provider licensed by De Nederlandsche Bank. With iDEAL and SEPA direct debit you provide your bank details directly to your own bank or to Mollie — we only see whether the payment succeeded and the amount. Mollie has its own privacy policy: mollie.com/privacy .
How long we keep data
We keep donation records for as long as the Dutch tax authority requires (seven years for our financial administration). Notes and stewardship records are kept for as long as you are a donor. If you ask us to delete your donor profile, we anonymise your name and email; the transaction records stay in our administration because of the legal retention requirement.
Change or cancel a recurring gift
Every confirmation email for a recurring gift contains a personal link with which you can review, change or stop your contribution yourself. Prefer email? Send a message to steunen@sazamsterdam.nl and we will take care of it within a few working days.
Newsletter
If you indicate during donation that you want to receive our newsletter, we add you to the SAZ News mailing list. Every newsletter contains an opt-out link at the bottom. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing steunen@sazamsterdam.nl.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to your data
- Request correction or deletion
- Object to processing
- File a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority
